- I have never ran before except during softball in middle and high school
- I am scared of the impact from the weight I carry will damage my knees and back even more than they are now.
- I am scared that if I don't
tryDO this that there will be lots of other damage that will come from the couch! - That if I don't do this someone will be telling my daughter all about me through pictures and videos cause I won't be here to watch her grow up.
I think the one thing that helped me jump right in (besides my daughter) was that this training program is for beginners and you have TONS of support along the way. The meeting tonight was full of people of all sizes and all levels...including my "I DO NOTHING" group. Seriously, the paperwork we filled out had 4 choices for "level of activity" and they said to be honest. I DO NOTHING was my only option! I want to work my way up to the walk/run group but NOT until I can afford that $60 "bounce no more" sports bra cause these girls will be all over the place without it.
This new venture was not without some cost, luckily I was given some running shoes to start with so that spared me $100 and the owner of the store is letting my pay the $75 registration fee in payments. It is stressful enough just to start something like this but when you add the cost of shoes, workout clothes, fees, gadgets, and materials you can't help but think "Crap, it's cheaper to sit on the couch!"
Suck it up. Quit complaining and get out there and try. If the lady that is 5 ft 2 in and weighs 340 pounds can do SEVEN half marathons then you can do 3.1 miles!
